I saw a copy of my new TOON Book last week, and it looked fantastic. It’s called Zig and Wikki in The Cow. It’s written by Nadja Spiegelman, and I did the artwork. Click here to pre-order it from Amazon.
Last Thursday, Nadja and I went to Léman Prep, a school in Lower Manhattan, and read our new book for all their second and third grade classes. It was a great day. The kids were awesome, and they seemed to really like the new story. They laughed at all the funny parts, and were grossed out by all the yucky parts. It was actually the first time I’d seen the finished story. I’d turned the artwork in a number of months ago and most of the text was done at that point, but Nadja was still fine tuning everything. She did a great job.
We read the book and then did some drawing for the kids. The school was having a Book Fair, so Nadja and I hung out at the Book Fair and drew pictures in and signed copies of our first book for the kids. We were hella busy, but it was way fun.
The new book comes out in February, but Nadja had a few advance copies that they’d gotten from the printers, so I was able to get a copy of the book. Of course, I’m going to highly recommend it. I’ll keep talking about it more as it gets closer to the publication date, as well as another TOON Book called The Shark King, by R Kikuo Johnson, that comes out then as well. That book is absolutely gorgeous. For a sneak peek of that one, click here.
And here’s the cover for my new book:
