Sorry I’m running a bit late with this morning’s new comic. I was juggling household repair work and comic creating yesterday. I got today’s comic finished. Yay! Our apartment is still under construction though. Boo!

I headed over to the annual MoCCA Festival here in New York this weekend. It was a nice show. Of course I spent way more money than I wanted to, but as usual came home with some great stuff. Some of my best loot this time out was the new Mickey Mouse book, High Noon at Inferno Gulch, from Fantagraphics (Yay, Mickey!), and New York Mon Amour by Jacques Tardi (Vive la France!).

I also picked up my first Manga book, a super sad story titled Stargazing Dog, by Takashi Murakami. It had a awesome cover of a white dog in the midst of a field of sunflowers which sucked me in, but then the story was so sad I was crying like a little girl as I was reading it on the subway on the way home. Not my most macho moment in public I’m afraid, but it happens, right?

Gosh! Today’s episode is a real cliff hanger.

Things are sure looking grim. Make sure and come back next week to finally meet the object of the Captain’s Quest. That’s right, next week the Sea-King makes his grand appearance in our story. And you all thought Livingston was the Sea-King, didn’t you?

Things are really going to start happening now, so for everyone that’s hung in there (and I really appreciate all of you who have), I’ll be back to posting every week again until we finish out the story. Just a quickie post tonight. My son’s got one of his friends spending the night so I’ve got to turn off the computer pronto so they’ll get their butts to sleep.

My new TOON Book, Zig and Wikki In The Cow, written by Nadja Speigelman, is out in bookstores now. We’ve got a book reading coming up next Saturday at the Greenlight Bookstore here in Brooklyn. If you’re in the New York area and have kids, bring them by. We’ll be reading the new book, doing some drawing, and signing books. The reading starts at 11:00 am. I know Nadja will have all her fans there. Hopefully, some Zip and Li’l Bit fans can make it out too. I’d love to see ya.
