Yes, it’s such a bummer to find stuff that we thought was so good when we were young to be not so great anymore. One thing I will say about the Bantam Doc Savage books that I saved from when I was a kid, while the writing isn’t what I remembered, the covers by James Bama still kick butt! I guess, I’ll take what I can get.

Over the last few years I have had a few opportunities to rediscover things from my childhood, and the result is almost always disappointment. It’s a shame, really — I would love to find a few things that I loved as a kid and are still appealing now.
