TOON Books Launched This Week

Sunday, April 13th, 2008

Update: Looks like I mixed up the name of the panel I’ll be at for Comic Con this weekend. If you’re going to be there, come by and say hello. I’ll be on a panel called Read Comics to Your Kids. It’ll be on Sunday at 3:00, in Room 2D04-5.

For anyone who’s got young kids that might be interested in comics, there are a series of books that are out now called TOON Books which are comics for early readers. Click on over to their website and check out the lineup of stellar creators that are contributing to these books. I’m really excited about this series and can’t wait to read them with my son.

Good luck again at Comic Con! Can’t wait to hear about it!

BTW, how old is your son? I’ve got an almost two-year-old girl and an almost five-year-old boy.

    Hooray!

Yay! The Smiley Balloon is saved. Now, I hope things turn out all right for Zip’s Shadow.

Hey Mark, I may have said this before but I’m amazed that you can take care of a two-year-old and a five-year-old AND make a living as a cartoonist. That’s a ton of work there. My boy is four-years-old. We’re just getting into the reading thing. It’s a lot of fun. When we read comics, he can read all the sound effects for us and I have to supply the rest. Stuff like ‘Thump!’, ‘Pop!’, and ‘Flap!’, are easy words for him to sound out I guess, so it works great.

Good luck at the panel this weekend. You’re gonna do great. Just picture everyone in their woolies….

Ha!!!, you guys are too young, I got my two granddaughters, (4 and 5) constantly going “Abuelo, please draw a cartoon”
It looks looks you are doing good with your Spanish, Trade.
I you can, I would like a comment on a cartoon I posted at Andertalk under “Sketches”.
    Thanks.

Hey Rich, your comment totally reminded me of a phase we went through with my boy when he was about two. I’d constantly have to draw cars or trains for him to color. It’s funny but I can’t even think of when or why we outgrew that. I’ll show him my Zip and Li’l Bit pictures all the time when I finish them. He likes Willoughby a lot.

Hey Jas, awesome idea about the woolies. I can picture it already. :)

Hey Trade! Much good luck with the panel. It should be great fun! Wish I could be there, buddy!
