So Long, For Now…

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008

Since it’s time for Zip to get up, that means we’ve made it to the end of the story. I hope everyone enjoyed The Sky Kayak. I had a great time thinking it up and doing all the writing and drawing. It’s a lot of fun. I’d really like to say how much I appreciate all the people who took the time to leave a comment as the story went along and everyone who’s written to me to ask questions or just shoot the breeze. I’ve met a lot of people as this comic has gone along and it’s been great.

So what’s next for Zip and Li’l Bit? I’ve got another story in the works which I’m calling The Captain’s Quest. That’s the good news. The bad news is that I’m going to have to take a little break and won’t start posting the next story again until January. I’ve got another project that I’m working on right now that is going to take up most of my time for the next couple months, but then I’ll be able to get back to Zip and Li’l Bit and get the next story revved up. I’m excited about it.

If you can, leave a note and let everyone know what you thought of The Sky Kayak. I’ll be glad to hear from you.

Later.

I really believe that your comic has all the elements to become a classic.

A world with Zip and L’il Bit in it is a better place… Thanks for creating The Sky Kayak. I’ll tune in come January for The Captain’s Quest!

  13. Daniel Says:

I discovered Zip an’ Li’l Bit right around the third installment of The Sky Kayak, and I’ve been reading regularly ever since. Both of these stories are FANTASTIC. I LOVE it when imagination, heart and, as Emily called it, “gentleness “like this finds its way back to comics. Can’t wait to see what’s next from you. Two thumbs up!

  14. Jason Stinson Says:

Great series, Trade! I don’t think we’ll be able to wait until January for Captain’s Quest…we’re gonna need a few one-shots in between.

BTW, Zip’s Mom is smokin’. Heels in the morning, no less…she got it goin’ on.

  15. Paul & Jazz Says:

My son Jazz and I had a terrific time reading Zip’s adventures together. The story lines and superb illustration have made us fans of online comics. Thanks for sharing your awesome work.

  16. Matthew Bernier Says:

No more sky kayak?! AAAAAAA!!!! This is the worst news ever!

By the way, great perspectives in panels 1 and four.

I’ll just have to reread upside down me, and sky kayak to hold me over until January. I’m sure that with the fan base you’ve been gathering that somewhere there is an art director or publisher or something outside of myself and your loyal fans that want to see your work in printed mass produced form. Wonderful book form, and until that day I will continually be rereading both stories for a quick smile and inspiration. Congrats again on another successful story. I hope you post some more previews to hold us over like you did for sky kayak. Enjoy your summer!

  18. Stacy Curtis Says:

Bravo! Great job on another great story!
    Enjoy your break!

  19. Lynne Says:

I still want print copies of both Upside-Down Me and Sky Kayak. Any chance of them becoming available? I’d put myself on a pre-order list like a shot.

  20. Elle Says:

Yay! I love your story’s. I haven’t been able to read or comment on your comic since my net went down. But I have it back now, and can’t wait till the next installment! You should put these in book form. I would love to buy them. (If I ever get money anyway.)
So overall, I love the story, and I love your style. Keep up the good work!

  21. Graham Says:

I may be late to the party but I enjoyed it none the less. Good job.
